Implants Provide You Improved Support & Stability

Overdenture allows for your denture to be supported by both your gums and bones with two or four dental implants. These permanent “snap-on” dentures allow you to replace missing teeth with ease. They also help you to maintain a youthful facial form and prevent future bone loss. The prosthesis can snap in and out for cleaning. You will no longer have to worry about a gooey mess or adhesive implants!

This dental prosthesis is unique in that it fits over remaining natural teeth, as well as one or more dental implants. Overdentures have the capability to replace several missing teeth or an entire arch without revealing themselves when you smile. Laugh and speak again with confidence and chew the foods you love with no limits when you choose overdentures from Southfield Family Dental.

Overdenture FAQs

How do I maintain my overdentures?

The first few weeks of wearing your overdentures may take some getting used to, but you’ll immediately notice how incredibly natural they feel. If natural teeth support your overdenture, it’s important to remember to continue to brush and floss these teeth regularly.

Your dentures will also need to be cleaned daily. The professionals at Southfield Family Dental will discuss how to properly clean and care for your overdentures post-surgery.

What is the overdenture process like?

Overdentures require three, sometimes four, appointments in order to complete the entire installment. The first appointment requires x-rays to determine whether your bone can support the necessary implants to hold the denture in place, as well as additional scans and impressions to create the custom-fitted denture.

The second appointment involves screwing the dental implant into the jawbone. During this process, you’ll receive a temporary denture until fully healed.

Finally, during the third appointment, you’ll receive your custom-made overdenture, and our Southfield Family Dental professionals will install it.
